Biography
Laura Antonia Abbott is a British, Fine Art and Conceptual Photographer, with a multi disciplinary artistic background who has lived on five continents. Laura spent her childhood years living in Africa, Australia, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia which gave her an early appreciation for diverse cultures and a love for the natural world. These experiences framed her passion for photography and storytelling. She is inspired by the work of Guy Bordin, Tim Walker and Anna Gaskell.
Laura’s work is rich in symbolism. Surrealist dreamscapes emerge from her visual imagery; influenced by her poetic observations of the world and human encounters. Laura constructs her images primarily on location with rich colours and handmade props created from recycled materials.
Having lived the most recent five years in Singapore, she is now based in Lisbon. Laura completed her photographic studies at Chelsea College of Art & Design, Nottingham Trent University in the UK and Bellas Artes in Spain.
